“I was 19 and I started during lockdown” Joseph, Orpheus student. 

He has been on an fantastic journey since he joined the Orpheus Centre in September 2020 and is now in his final year. He joined at a particularly difficult time for everyone as the world tackled the Covid-19 pandemic. Understanding the challenges that home learning could bring for the students, the Orpheus Centre responded quickly with a personalised work from home programme. 

In the years that followed Joseph has lived independently, gained work experience at the Hilton and become a Karate champion! With Orpheus being there to support every step of the way.

Joseph’s journey with us is coming to an end with exciting next steps ahead. Staff are now working with him to make sure he is ready for the next stage of his future.  

But there are many more young adults that haven’t even started their journey yet. These donations will help pay for a student like Joseph to travel to and from their work placement and fund other activities to support the students to live more independent lives.
