A simple way to support future students at the Orpheus Centre

Leaving a gift in your will is a powerful way to help future young adults with disabilities build confidence, independence and skills through music and the performing arts.

Making or updating a will is often straightforward, and you don’t have to be wealthy to make a meaningful difference. Your loved ones should always come first — and when the time feels right, even a small gift to Orpheus can have a lasting impact.

How to leave a gift in your will

Making a will is usually a simple process. If you already have a will, there is no need to start again — you can make changes by adding a codicil, which acts as an amendment to your existing will.

Ways to leave a gift

There are three main ways to leave a gift to the Orpheus Centre:

A share of your estate
A percentage of what remains after other gifts and costs have been taken care of. Many people choose this option as it keeps pace with inflation.

A fixed sum of money
You can choose to leave a specific amount. There is no minimum or maximum — every gift helps support future students.

A specific item
You may wish to leave a particular item, such as jewellery, artwork or a musical instrument. We would arrange for the item to be valued and sold, with the proceeds supporting Orpheus’ work.

Suggested wording for your will

To ensure your gift reaches us exactly as you intend, please include our full charity details:
I give a …% share of the residue of my estate to the Orpheus Centre (Registered Charity number 1105213), North Park Lane, Godstone, Surrey RH9 8ND.
or
I give to the Orpheus Centre (Registered Charity number 1105213), North Park Lane, Godstone, Surrey RH9 8ND the sum of [amount in words and figures].
