Transition at Orpheus (in conjunction with our remit of Preparing for Adulthood) is very special, beginning when students attend assessment and continuing throughout the time they are with us and beyond. We do everything we can to support students in achieving their aspirations and we provide impartial advice, guidance and support to empower them to make decisions about their education and future.

In the final year at Orpheus we cover a range of subjects which enable students to try out new things and develop skills which gives them confidence to interact and communicate with others. There are visits to alumni students in their homes to discuss how they have moved on and for students to get tips on what worked for them.

There is support from our Housing Officer and the Local Authority Transitions Team in securing the place you want to live, identifying the local services and most importantly, support in finding paid or voluntary work. The Next Stage Event is an important part of this programme - an event to introduce students to organisations that might be useful for their life beyond Orpheus - employers, support organisations, and independent living accommodation.

After transitioning there is continued support for the next six months or more if necessary. Read more on how we have aided our students'  Employment Skills and Experience
