Online Safety

Acceptable Use of IT

All students are required to sign an Acceptable Use Agreement at the start of their programme. This outlines expectations for responsible and respectful use of technology, both on-site and online and helps ensure a safe digital environment for everyone at Orpheus.

Filtering and Monitoring

At Orpheus, we are committed to providing a safe online environment for our learners. We use robust filtering and monitoring systems to help protect students from harmful or inappropriate content while using the internet on site. These systems are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to the needs of our learners. Staff are alerted to potential risks and respond in line with our safeguarding procedures.

Online Safety in the Curriculum

Online safety is embedded across our curriculum to help students develop the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the digital world safely and confidently. This includes:

  • PSHE sessions that explore digital wellbeing, online relationships and managing risks.
  • Tutorials and key worker sessions that provide personalised guidance on safe online behaviour.

We tailor our teaching to the needs and abilities of our learners, using accessible resources and real-life scenarios to support understanding.
