Orpheus Performance Group

Since September 2016, we have been running a Music Theatre Performance Group involving Orpheus students. This is the first of its kind at Orpheus bringing together students from across the year groups who enjoy singing and want to develop their technical and performance skills. The course consists of learning group numbers for performances, as well as putting together solo repertoires to use for their exam at the end of the year with the London College of Music. This group have performed at recent Orpheus events to much acclaim, and this has helped to introduce Orpheus to new audiences and supporters.

If you are interested in booking the Orpheus Performance Group or Alumni students to sing at your event please contact our Outreach Coordinator Gaynor Thurbin [email protected].

Upcoming Outreaches

We have a busy year ahead with upcoming events at Goldsmiths Hall, The House of Lords and Bagshot Park  the home of our Patron, HRH The Earl of Wessex KG GCVO.

Jubilee Sailing Trust

We also have a wonderful opportunity to work with the Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) next July to produce 'Songs on the Sea', an outreach voyage crewed by students of Orpheus. JST operates the only two tall ships in the world which have been custom built so that disabled people can sail as full crew members.

During their voyage, crew will write and rehearse a musical spectacular to be performed upon arrival as the centrepiece of an in-port event celebrating diversity, creativity and ability, and breaking down barriers between disabled and non-disabled people.

If you are interested in attending the performance or have an idea for an outreach partnership please contact our Outreach Coordinator Gaynor Thurbin [email protected].
