Learning Support Assistant

Full-Time 35 hours per week, 42 weeks a year

£16,993 p.a.

The Orpheus Centre in Godstone, Surrey is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Learning Support Assistant.  You will provide practical support in learning sessions, liaise with tutors to help create engaging and motivational teaching sessions and enable our students to build resilience and improve their communication skills in a vibrant college for young adults with a range of physical and learning disabilities. You will be joining a friendly and professional team whose focus is putting students first.

Essential:

  • 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) or equivalent including Maths and English
  • Good Literacy, Numeracy & IT skills
  • Sound interpersonal & communication skills
  • Knowledge of curriculum design, timetabling and support liaison
  • Understanding of Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities
  • Experience of supporting Independence Skills, Employment Skills & Functional Skills
  • Teamwork evidence of multi-disciplinary working
  • Flexibility to support 9-9 curriculum

Support Worker Tier 1 £8.66 per hour

      

We are looking for caring, friendly and reliable people to join our team.  These are full time permanent positions working 40 hours a week, you should be available to work shifts which will include some evenings and every other weekend. (Part time applications may also be considered as well as regular bank workers)

Our Centre is based in beautiful rural Godstone (car driver preferable due to location).The role is supporting our students (aged 18 to 25) to develop skills in daily living, directing their support, planning activities, key working and personal care needs.  We have wonderful facilities and a vibrant, fun environment to work in and would welcome all potential applicants to come and have an informal chat and visit, if they are interested in applying (prior to submitting an application).
