Watch a young person who’s been told “no” their entire life step onto our stage and sing fearlessly. See parents witness their child becoming an adult exceeding every expectation society set for them. This is the Orpheus magic – and we need your help to multiply it. Right now, we’re turning away young disabled adults who desperately our support.
The students achieve extraordinary things whilst navigating:
Your gift will transform:
A fully accessible 250 seater theatre
A multi-use space that can turn into a fully functioning theatre to allow for more performance and dance with an even bigger audience.
Dedicated art and music space
Creative spaces designed to support young artists in the conception, development, and execution of their work.
Fully kitted out film and media studios
Dynamic, multi-functional spaces designed to support the entire production pipeline; from pre-production to post-production.
Orpheus delivers more than education – it changes the odds. Because every young disabled person deserves the same chances as their peers. The chance to learn, to work, to love, to laugh, to fail, to succeed, to surprise everyone – including themselves.
Every time I did something that improved my skills. I would say being at Orpheus and the help with my career was fabulous!

I’ve been to the Orpheus Centre many times and I have never left without being incredibly impressed about what happens there.
Please help empower the next generation to take centre stage, it’s worth everything you can possibly give to it.
Our vision is to ensure we create an inclusive world where young disabled people can live and work independently so they can achieve their aspirations. This has to be the minimum expectation we hold for our wonderful students.
I support the work of the Orpheus Centre as it’s clear to see what a tremendous difference it makes to young disabled people’s lives. It equips young people with essential life skills, helping them on their journey to independent living.
The Orpheus Centre opened in 1997 at Sir Richard’s former family home in Godstone. Surrey.
Orpheus originally started with just five disabled students who lived on-site, learning to cook, manage budgets, do laundry and go shopping.
