My name is Joanna Langston.

I live at home with Mum and Dad; my Mum is my carer, but I have a PA on a Thursday.

I was a day student at Orpheus for twelve years, from 2005-2017. The things I enjoyed doing the most at Orpheus were song writing and drumming. My learning and confidence in myself developed while at Orpheus which helped me become a more confident performer. I have so many special memories from my time at Orpheus, I sang solo at the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Opera House and the House of Lords. I met lots of famous people: Judy Dench, Joanna Lumley, Matt Lucas, Prince Edward, Chris Tarrant and Jane Asher to name a few. Of course I also got to work with wonderful tutors like Richard Stilgoe, Bing Lyle, Tony Stenson, Tom Arnold, Nick Pynn, Kate Grant, Katie Stilgoe and many more.

I am the drummer in a band called ‘Not the Shadows’ and sing on outreaches with Ann Lovelace for Orpheus along with other alumni’s. If people ask me about Orpheus I always say,” it’s a great place and I loved every minute of my time there”
