We have just broken ground on our outdoor gym and a multi-use games area (MUGA), designed to give our students and staff the opportunity to get more active and support healthier lifestyles. The global pandemic has emphasised the importance of this.

MUGA surfaces are rapidly growing in popularity and are becoming an ever more common feature in schools, colleges and universities, public parks, and academies, not only across the UK, but around the world. MUGA surfaces make it possible to provide facilities for multiple sports even where space and available funds are at a premium. Designed to provide optimal playing properties and protection against injuries, they are also hard-wearing, long-lasting, and easy to maintain. The outdoor gym provides a diverse range of products which deliver cardiovascular exercises to improve the overall well-being of the heart, blood flow and lungs, strength training to build muscles for strength and endurance, and flexibility.

You may remember that our 2018 Big Give appeal was dedicated to raising funds for this project and your generous donations were doubled by the Big Give. We would like to thank you and other supporters such as; Peter Harrison Foundation , Manly Trust, Tesco, HSBC, AXA, Community Foundation for Surrey, Edward Gostling Foundation, Paphitis Charitable Trust and Tandridge Council for their  support.

This facility will inspire the whole Orpheus community to get active. It will also have a profound effect on our students' emotional and mental wellbeing and it's all thanks to you! We are very excited to keep you up to date on the progress of our on-site MUGA!
