We welcomed employees of Axa Assistance in Redhill back to the Orpheus Centre for two days of volunteering in our grounds!

Axa Assistance have been supporting us for nearly eight years now and a big part of that has always been their annual volunteer days. They always come in and work so hard to transform a space for us.

This year, after not being able to keep up ground maintenance during the pandemic, our grounds were in desperate need of some hard work and we definitely got that again from the Axa team. They transformed our summer house area ready for us to start work on a student run café that we are hoping to put in soon…watch this space.

They gave the structure a much needed make over, sanding the wood down and painting it bright yellow (as chosen by the students) and removed all the weeds surrounding it. They also started laying a new surface out the front to stop more weeds coming through and once this is complete, it will be a much more accessible space.

We are so grateful to the team from Axa Assistance and cannot wait to share more news about the Orpheus café soon.
