Strictly Inclusive Dance 2019

Here are the photographs from this highly successful event. Congratulations to the winners Isabella & Dominic from the Orpheus Centre! It was very well deserved, but all the participants did an absolutely smashing job, it was difficult for the judges to fault anyone.

The West End stars, Justin Thomas and Kat Callow very kindly judged the event for us and Garry Richardson from the BBC Today programme was our charismatic compere.

Students from The Orpheus Centre, Woodfield School, St John's and Young Epilepsy took part and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, embracing the opportunity to show off their dance skills both formal and freestyle.  The atmosphere would rival a live Strictly Come Dancing show with the entire audience smiling, clapping and cheering throughout.

Orpheus invited local collages to take part in this exciting inclusive community event to learn, compete and dance socially in Ballroom and Latin dance styles.  The collages were sent videos of the Latin and ballroom dances prior to the event to learn.  They then spent the morning rehearsing before the competition in the afternoon followed by a dance social for everyone to dance and relax together.  Refreshments were supplied by our student Catering and Hospitality team and the Orpheus students who form our signing performance group led by Rachel Martin performed and entertained everyone. Watch this space as we may just have to do it again!
