I have finally completed my first film, possABILITY, a documentary about people with Down's Syndrome in employment. I made this independently and without any kind of funding; I wanted to create something to get across a message which was very important to me. I began working on the concept in Autumn 2016, almost 2 years ago. It features Orpheus alumni Claire, Polly & Joe and Eloise." "possABILITY is presented by Claire, and 8 participants with Down's Syndrome tell us their experiences with employment, positive and negative. Their parents and employees explain how much the participants have grown since starting work. The film examines the problems society places in the way, such as the difficulty involved with the benefits system, as well as the many advantages to having a more inclusive workforce. The doc features interviews with Freewheelers - an inclusive theatre company - and The Camden Society - who provide services to people with learning disabilities in London - to give some services’ point of view on the topic."
