Magda Devaris runs 'One The Square', located in the heart of Forest Row, which offers an array of craft workshops. Of course like many other businesses, when lockdown came into effect, it closed overnight.

Magda, hearing about a group who had set up in Hackney, created 'Scrubhub', as a congregation point for a network of seamstresses. Little did she know that once ScrubHub was registered, within 24 hours she had emails from over 50 volunteers all wanting to help! It was a tremendous response and quickly she got help to organise volunteers by area and skill set.

She joined forces with another local volunteer group and suddenly they had 140 volunteers, spread over 10 miles. To date, the group has made 150 scrubs, countless laundry bags and masks. All to support doctors, nurses and carers in the community.

Orpheus has been a grateful recipient of 63 sets of scrubs, wash bags and over 50 fabric masks, to protect our Domiciliary Care team and our students.

To help support 'One The Square', along with a group of volunteers who are making scrubs for NHS doctors and carers, you can donate towards the cost of materials here.

If you can volunteer you can find them on Facebook.
