Internships at Active Prospects

To celebrate their 30 year anniversary, Active Prospects, an organisation offering a variety of care to some 300 people with a range of disabilities, asked 3rd year student, Awa, to put together a Retrospective on Disability. The result was an enlightening look at society's attitudes to the disabled, institutions of incarceration, campaigners for change, and the resulting legislation that seeks to give equal rights to people with disabilities.  Awa was joined at Active Prospects by fellow students Tyler who worked in Marketing, Catherine in Reception, and Loui who worked at one of Active Prospect's residential care services.

Here are examples of her findings presented at the exhibition:

Awa says: 'producing this exhibition has been challenging. I never knew how badly people with disability were treated in the past'.
