Students at Orpheus have many different options for eating. They are able to cook and eat in their own flats whenever they would like to. The Domiciliary Care and Support team are available to assist students to write a menu plan for the week and a shopping list to ensure that they have all the correct ingredients. We encourage students to make healthy eating choices.
Many students like to go to the local supermarket to do their weekly shopping. Support is available to ensure shopping lists are followed and students stick to their budgets. Other students order their shopping online and have it delivered straight to their front door. This is also a good opportunity to put ITC skills into action.
We have a canteen at Orpheus which is open between 12.30pm and 1.30pm during term times. This is open to all students, staff and volunteers and serves food such as jacket potatoes and paninis, as well as a salad bar. We have a food traffic light system in place which helps students to make informed choices about what they eat.
