The Orpheus Centre

Legacies

Leaving a legacy to the Orpheus Centre means giving a young disabled person the gift of independence. It enables the Orpheus Centre to continue to support the hundreds of young people that use our facilities every year. Legacies allow the Orpheus Centre to plan for the future, which means we are able to develop long-term goals for the Centre and for our students.

Leaving a legacy starts by making a will - this gives you the security of knowing exactly how your affairs will be dealt with. The type of legacy you leave will be determined by what you wish to leave to the Orpheus Centre. There are three main types of legacy:

• A residuary bequest which is a gift of the remainder of the estate after all other bequests have been made and debts cleared.

• A pecuniary bequest which is a gift of a fixed sum of money in your Will.

• A specific bequest which is when a particular named item left as a gift in your Will, for example, a musical instrument or a computer.
