We are very excited to announce that the hilarious comedy troup 'Abnormally Funny People' will be running a comedy weekend on 9th - 10th May as part of the centre's season of short courses.
Abnormally Funny People is a group of gifted stand-up comedians strutting their funny stuff. Some sit down and stand-up, others stand on chairs and stand-up, others simply stand up and stand-up. They are all funny people.
Also running the course will be Huw Thomas. Huw Thomas is one of the comedy originals, starting off compering at the famous venue 'Downstairs at the Kings Head' in London in 1981. He was for 20 years a lecturer in Drama at Middlesex University and has taught several thousand students in stand-up comedy. He has directed many comedy shows and is an actor and stand-up comedian himself.
To be eligible for the course, students must be over the age of 18, have a physical impairment or a learning disability, and it is recommended that all course participants have an interest and enthusiasm for the performing arts. The weekend costs just £250 and course fees include full-board, en-suite accomodation, workshops and personal care requirements. Please see our short course information page for booking details...
