Congratulations to Orpheus Care Worker Jess Davidson who was honoured at the Surrey Care Awards on Friday night. The awards - the county’s ‘Oscars’ for care workers to recognise and celebrate the hard work and dedication of people working in adult social care – took place at Epsom Race Course, Jess - who was nominated alongside fellow Orpheus care worker Emma Taylor, was awarded the Young Practitioner of the Year award, with Emma receiving a nomination for the Learner of the Year award.
Vic Kearsey – Orpheus Centre Domiciliary Services Manager said, “A very well done to both of them because it was clear that there was some high competition this year. All our staff have worked really hard so it’s always difficult choosing who to nominate but such a great success this year and very well deserved.”
The Orpheus Centre offers a domiciliary care plus service, with trained personal assistants supporting our service users in their independence skills and to create and achieve their own person-centred plans. The award is not the first success for the centre’s domiciliary care service, which opened in August 2009 achieved a “Good” grade, the second highest possible on offer, in its latest inspection.
